Trail and skills park wrapped up for 2017

2017 has been a busy and successful year for the Edson Cycling Association.  We have built 4 kilometers of trail, including the Root 66 and Ridge Rollers trails. We also installed boardwalks on wet sections of Spruce and Pine trails and we have started a by-pass of another wet section on Pine trail.  We did some prep work for phase one of the bike skills park.  We also ran weekly co-ed and women’s group rides.  All of this was thanks to our committed volunteers.    Although we are all volunteers, our board cannot do it alone.  Thank you to everyone who came out, whether it was once or weekly, we appreciate your help.

We had many aspirations of completing more work through October and early November. This included having our builder, Jay Hoots, come out to complete phase one of the bike park build.  However, the chilly and wet weather has put a damper on our plans.  Jay is excited to be coming in the spring, after road bans are lifted, to build phase one of the bike skills park.  We will be looking for many volunteers to help with the process.  Stay tuned for more details.  In the meantime, we are still looking for grant and sponsorship opportunities.  If you know of any, please contact us at edsoncycling@gmail.com
